Does it need electricity or batteries?
No. It works on its own, which means it still works during load-shedding.
How long does it actually take?
Thin cuts like chops or steak thaw in around 30–60 minutes. Thicker cuts and larger portions take longer, depending on size and how warm your kitchen is. Either way you don't need to plan hours ahead.
What if I'm not happy with it?

Why not just use the microwave?
Microwaves cook the edges while the middle is still frozen. You end up with grey, rubbery meat. KitchenCraft thaws evenly and keeps the texture.
